God’s people are commanded to be caring people.  John tells us that we cannot love our brother if we withhold from him the physical help that he needs (1 Jn. 3:17).  Jesus taught us to care for the physical needs of the hungry, thirsty, naked, and imprisoned (Matt. 9:41).  We fulfill our purpose when we love others by helping those in need.
