The OBC website was, admittedly, very sad. After much pain and toil (Gen. 3:18-19) we now have a newly upgraded website centered around a new direction for our church-Connecting People to their Purpose. We all have a deep need for significance and purpose in life, and the Word of God is the only way to know and fulfill that purpose (1 Cor. 10:31). This will be the conscious focus of our church, how can we connect people to their purpose?
Take a few moments to get to know our new website. I’m sure you’ll find lots of helpful things here. Those who are not familiar with our church can find things like our Vision, philosophy of Worship, info about our pastor, and a short statement of belief.
The tabs on the right (OBC at a Glance) provide some helpful links for regular visitors. The “Events” tab shows a list of upcoming special events. Click on the event to be taken to a page dedicated to the event, including maps, contact info, and other information about the event,
Click on “Messages” to listen to recent messages
The “Schedule” tab is a place for regular attenders of OBC to get an up-to-date schedule of regular events (as opposed to Special Events, located on the Events tab). Here you can find information such as service times, Deacon of the Week, Nursery, and Children’s Church rotation.
Look to the bottom right for “Recent Posts.” This keeps up up to date on interesting things that have recently happened around OBC. These posts are also linked to our Facebook page.
Connecting with OBC has gotten easier on our Connect pages. With one click, you can sign up for our email newsletter, visit our facebook page, and read recent postings and blog entries. It is also more convenient to connect in prayer. From this page, you can submit prayer requests online (either anonymously or not), as well as read prayer requests submitted. You can also click to let the submitter know that they have been prayed for. One click does all of this.
You can also read about our Outreach Ministries, subscribe to our podcast or RSS feed, and do many other things. Spend a little time getting to know our new look, and pray that God will use this to reach the lost.
